On May 9th, Tan Pingheng, Director of the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Xue Chunlai, Deputy Director, along with their team, visited our school at the invitation to engage in in-depth discussions on academic research cooperation and the cultivation of top talents.
The Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Northeast Normal University jointly established the "Huang Kun Class" in 2017, aimed at training outstanding innovative talents in semiconductor physics and related fields. This program adopts a "dynamic selection + integrated undergraduate and master's program" model, selecting excellent undergraduates with potential for scientific innovation from the School of Physics each year. The selected students are jointly mentored by both institutions' professors, and regular academic activities such as expert lectures and summer research sessions are held. To date, over a hundred graduates have been trained, and many outstanding students have pursued further studies at top institutions such as the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tsinghua University.
