On September 1, the Symphony Concert “Ode to Peace”, jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, was held in Changchun to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Faculty and students from the Conservatory of Music at NENU participated in the performance in collaboration with the Jilin Symphony Orchestra and the Conservatory of Music at Jilin Normal University.
During the concert, NENU faculty and students performed in several key pieces, including the choruses “Along the Songhua River” and “My Motherland”, as well as the symphonic suite “Ode to the Heroes of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army”. Through their superb artistic expression, they recreated the arduous and unyielding journey of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, showcasing the rock-solid ideals and beliefs of the revolutionary soldiers.
This performance not only showcased the professional skills of our faculty and students but also served as a powerful lesson in patriotic education. It effectively turned the stage into a vibrant classroom that nurtures the root and soul, and cultivates aesthetic appreciation through music.
