Li Zhongjun presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, Vice President Wu Zhihui reported on the progress of the preparatory work for this round of audit and evaluation and outlined a detailed plan for the next phase based on the advice of the expert panel from the Ministry of Education.
President Xu Haiyang highly commended the effectiveness of the preparatory work carried out by all departments and schools. He pointed out that fostering virtue through education is the fundamental task and core mission of a university. In recent years, NENU has actively practiced its “respectful and creative” educational philosophy, strengthened the core elements of faculty, curriculum, and teaching materials, and centered its efforts on the principles of “how to teach, how to learn, and how to create a supportive environment.” to promote quality-focused development and continuously enhanced the university’s high-level undergraduate education system. President Xu emphasized that the audit and evaluation serve as both a systematic review of past undergraduate cultivation efforts and a powerful impetus for future reforms. He called upon the entire university to attach great importance to the process, ensure its thorough implementation, and elevate undergraduate education to a new level.
Party Secretary Li Zhongjun laid out three key requirements for the work ahead. First, he called for an elevated strategic perspective to fully recognize the significance of the audit and evaluation, using its guiding principles to lead the high-quality development of all university initiatives. Second, he stressed the need to reinforce accountability and ensure the steady progress of all preparations. He urged that this task be treated as the university’s most central and urgent priority, requiring full participation, comprehensive collaboration, and complete implementation. Third, he called for proactive engagement, using the evaluation as a catalyst for substantive development. The process, he noted, should be seen as a vital opportunity to unite faculty and students in pursuing progress and to comprehensively showcase NENU’s new ideas, initiatives, and achievements in fostering first-class undergraduate talent.
Following the meeting, a dedicated task force session was held to further detail the preparations for the evaluation.
