The Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology recently announced its 2025 list of recognized Provincial Proof of Concept Centers, with NENU’s proposed center being successfully selected.
Proof of Concept Centers serve as innovative platforms to address the “first mile” challenge in transforming scientific and technological achievements. By allocating essential resources to early-stage research and conducting technical and commercial feasibility assessments, these centers can accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and minimize the risk of promising projects failing in their initial stages.
In recent years, NENU has been integrating internal and external resources to conduct organized research with its sights on the global frontiers of science and technology, national economic development, the major needs of the country, and the health and safety of the people. Besides, NENU has targeted critical “bottleneck” challenges in the nation’s strategic development and key core technologies for Jilin’s priority industries, striving to provide new momentum for the cultivation of new quality productive forces.
Through establishing the Proof of Concept Center, systematically identifying NENU’s unique scientific achievements, creating funds supported by fundamental research grants, holding technology roadshows via major tech-transfer platforms, promoting research at science and technology expos, and collaborating with local governments to facilitate precise university-enterprise matchmaking, the NENU Office of Science and Technology has been accelerating the commercialization of technology. By driving industrial upgrading through technological innovation, NENU is providing strong scientific and technological support for both high-quality regional development and its own “Double First-Class” initiative.
