A delegation from Rutgers University–Newark, led by Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Robinson, visited NENU on September 16. The delegation also included Kaifeng Yang, Dean of the School of Public Affairs and Administration, and Luke Greeley, Assistant Dean of the Business School. NENU President Xu Haiyang met with the delegation. Also attending the meeting were Michele Scott, Assistant Dean of Rutgers Business School and Vice Dean of Rutgers University Newark Institute at NENU (RUNIN), along with key representatives from NENU’s Division of International Cooperation and RUNIN.
President Xu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed sincere gratitude for Rutgers University’s long-term support in the development of RUNIN. He highlighted the significant achievements resulting from the partnership since the joint establishment of the college in 2015, expressing his hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further expand cooperation between the two universities in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research, and faculty and student exchanges.
Jeffrey Robinson noted that most RUNIN graduates pursue advanced master’s and doctoral studies at top-tier institutions, showcasing the success and advantages of the collaborative education model. He affirmed that Rutgers University–Newark will continue to strengthen its support for RUNIN.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions on topics including the Institute’s operational model, blended online-offline teaching approaches, and the duration of U.S. faculty assignments in China, reaching a consensus on several areas for future cooperation.
Following the meeting, the delegation attended the RUNIN’s opening ceremony for new students of 2025, and engaged in in-depth discussions with the faculty and students.
