From October 19 to 20, President Xu Haiyang of Northeast Normal University (NENU) led a delegation to the U-G-S Teacher Education Innovation Experimental Zone in Shenyang to conduct educational practice research and meet with NENU alumni as well as current student interns. The delegation included leaders from the Academic Affairs Office, the Student Career Development and Guidance Center, and the Alumni Affairs Office.
The research group held a symposium at Northeast Yucai School, where 23 alumni representatives from local education bureaus, primary and secondary schools, and enterprises in Shenyang participated in discussions. During the visit to Shenyang No. 11 High School, the delegation attended a demonstration class delivered by NENU student teachers and held a conversation with 24 interns and 3 supervising teachers to learn about their internship experiences in Shenyang.
The group also met with officials from the Education Bureau of the Experimental Zone and the partner base schools. Participants included Li Sheng, Secretary of the Huanggu District Party Committee; Gao Wenfeng, Head of the Organization Department; Han Yuqin, Deputy District Mayor; and Liang Huimin, Director of the Education Bureau.
As part of the visit, President Xu Haiyang delivered a special science popularization lecture on major research advances in modern physics to over 500 students and teachers at Liaoning Province Experimental High School.
This field visit represents both an important step in advancing the university’s integrated “Enrollment–Training–Employment” mechanism and an innovative effort to optimize teacher education practice. Building on the insights from this research, NENU will continue to refine its understanding of the needs and trends of teacher development in the new era, enhance innovative approaches to practical education, and strengthen the development of U-G-S 3.0. The goal is to cultivate innovative and outstanding educators with both professional excellence and the spirit of an educational pioneer.
