On October 24, the 4th Doctoral Seminar on International Chinese Language Education was held at NENU. The seminar was hosted by the National Administry Committee of Graduate Education of International Chinese Language Education, organized by the School of International Chinese Language Education at NENU, and co-organized by the College of International Education and Social Development at Zhejiang Normal University. Attending the seminar were distinguished guests including Zhong Yinghua, Vice Chairman of the National Administry Committee, President of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, and former President of Tianjin Normal University; Ren Shifang, Deputy Director of the Teacher Department of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and Secretary-General of the National Administry Committee; Cui Xiliang, Vice President of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching and former President of Beijing Language and Culture University and Wang Hui, Dean of the College of International Education and Social Development at Zhejiang Normal University. Vice-President Wu Zhihui of NENU attended and delivered the opening speech. Principal leaders from the Graduate School and the School of International Chinese Language Education at NENU also participated in the seminar. In total, the seminar attracted 63 doctoral students from various universities across the country.
This year’s seminar demonstrated the continuous improvement in the training quality of doctoral students in International Chinese Language Education in China, and provided a high-quality platform for building consensus and advancing the discipline’s development. Looking ahead, the School of International Chinese Language Education at NENU will continue to leverage its advantages in discipline and talent cultivation to contribute to the construction of a system of international Chinese language education with Chinese characteristics.
