The National Finals of the 8th SFLEP Cup National Colleges Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest was recently held at the Hongkou Campus of Shanghai International Studies University. Two teams representing our university—one consisting of Chinese students and the other of international students—both secured National First Prizes. This achievement marks the best performance ever recorded by a university from Jilin Province in the history of this competition.
The Chinese student team was composed of Guo Shiqiang (undergraduate, School of International Studies), Yuan Han (undergraduate, School of Politics and Law), and Zhao Junxian (graduate student, School of Psychology). Under the dedicated mentorship of faculty members Zhang Yu, Yang Yiliu, and Kong Wei, the team stood out among the competitors to claim the National First Prize.
In the International Student Category, three graduate students from the School of International Chinese Language Education—Lee Wan Lin (Malaysia), Titova Polina (Russia), and Le Thi Thanh Huong (Vietnam)—won the National First Prize under the guidance of faculty members Mao Shishuai, Jiang Fei, and Liang Zichao.
