Delegation from China Teacher Development Foundation and School of Education at Tsinghua University Visited NENU for Research on the Construction of Teacher Education Curriculum System

Published:April 1, 2026 Review:

Recently, entrusted by the Ministry of Education and the China Teacher Development Foundation, the research group on curriculum resource construction under the Ministry of Education’s “Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan for Teacher Education” visited NENU to conduct research on the construction of the teacher education curriculum system. Participants included Professor Shi Zhongying, head of the research group and Dean of the School of Education at Tsinghua University; Professor Ruan Chengwu from the School of Educational Science at Anhui Normal University; Professor Zhao Ronghui, Dean of the College of Education at Inner Mongolia Normal University; and Professor Rao Congman from the Faculty of Education at NENU. Also in attendance were Vice President Wu Zhihui, heads of the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, and Institute of Teacher Education, as well as representatives from partner universities under the Collaborative Quality Improvement Plan, including Harbin Normal University, Liaoning Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, Baicheng Normal University, and Mudanjiang Normal University.

The research focused on the construction of the teacher education curriculum system. Through faculty forums, student discussions, and classroom observations, the research group gained a comprehensive understanding of the current development of teacher education curricula at higher education institutions. The group also visited NENU’s affiliated middle school and primary school to examine the collaborative teacher training model between the university and primary and secondary schools. The research group spoke highly of NENU’s reform efforts featuring “multi-party collaboration and integrated teacher development,” noting that efforts such as the “cloud-based dual-teacher classes” and the sharing of high-quality course resources among collaborative universities offer a valuable reference for advancing teacher education curriculum development across China.

NENU is currently undertaking the “Teacher Education Innovation Mechanism Reform Pilot Work” under the first batch of initiatives in the Three-year Action Plan for Strengthening Education. A series of reforms have been implemented in the areas of teacher education philosophy, talent cultivation models, and curriculum systems. In the future, NENU will continue to deepen its teacher education curriculum reforms and make greater contributions to the construction of teacher education curriculum system in China.
