On May 23, NENU hosted the launch of the “China Teacher Development Report 2025” and the Symposium on High-Quality Teacher Development Empowered by Digital Intelligence. The opening ceremony was attended by Huang Xiaohua, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Teacher Education under the Ministry of Education; Xu Zhi, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Jilin Province; Siu Hoi Ting, Deputy Chief Executive of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation; Xue Lifeng, Vice President of NENU; and Wu Zhihui, Vice President of NENU. The event was chaired by Bai Bing, Assistant to the President of NENU.
During the launch event, the head of the National Training Center for Kindergarten Principals introduced the key findings of the “China Teacher Development Report 2025”. Professor Yu Haibo from NENU’s School of Physics presented the findings of a sub-report, while seven project team members, including Professors Liu Haimin, Liang Hongmei, and Zhang Cong from the Faculty of Education, delivered thematic presentations on their research.
Vice President Wu Zhihui also introduced Teacher Research (formerly The In-Service Education and Training of School Teachers), an academic journal hosted by NENU, outlining its mission, distinctive features, and future development plans. Participating experts highly commended the report and its research achievements. The “China Teacher Development Report 2025” received extensive coverage from major national media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, China Education News, China Teacher Paper, and China News Service.
As part of the event, NENU also hosted the Symposium on High-Quality Teacher Development Empowered by Digital Intelligence. More than ten scholars and experts from leading universities, including Zhejiang University, Beijing Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Central China Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University, and Southwest University, delivered keynote presentations on current issues and emerging trends in teacher education. In addition, the Tin Ka Ping School Improvement Research Forum was held during the event. Participants and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on pathways to promoting high-quality school development.
