Recently, the 2026 International Symposium on Mathematics and Science Education in Primary and Secondary Schools, jointly sponsored by National Key Research Bases for Teaching Materials (Research on Comprehensive Scientific Textbooks in Primary and Secondary Schools) and the Faculty of Education of NENU, was held in NENU. With the theme of "Integration and Innovation of Mathematics and Science Education in the Intelligent Era", this symposium focused on core issues such as cutting-edge development of mathematics and science education, textbook construction research, interdisciplinary integration, AI and stem education, and education evaluation. More than 20 experts and scholars from China, Singapore, the Netherlands, the United States, Australia and other countries, the relevant persons in charge of the key research bases for teaching materials such as physics, chemistry, biology, geography, and mathematics in primary and secondary schools in China,distinguished scholars in the field, and a total of more than 400 teachers and students attended the symposium. Shi Tian, Deputy Director of the Policy and Regulation Division of the Department for Supervision of After-School Tutoring Institutions of the Ministry of Education, attended the symposium. Xu Haiyang, the President of NENU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
