On October tenth, the 2015 National Conference of Phytobiology held collectively by Chinese Society for Plant Biology, Chinese Society of Crop Sciences, Chinese Society for Cell Biology, The Genetics Society of China and Botanical Society of China saw a grand opening. It was organized by NENU, Northeast Institute of Geography and Agricultural Ecology of CAS, Jilin Agricultural University and Jilin's VUSTA.
The theme of this four-day conference was Plant Science and Food Security. During the conference, Xu Zhihong delivered a keynote speech titled as the Challenges that China's Agriculture will Face and Responsibilities of Phytobiologists. This conference promoted academic exchanges for Phytobiology, improved the academic standard of China's Phytobiology, and contributed to the development of related research field of Phytobiology in NENU.
