Recently, co-hosted by NENU's Institute of Grassland Science and Education Ministry-registered Key Laboratory of Vegetation Ecology, the third representative conference of Jilin Province Ecology Society and academic seminar was held in NENU. The Secretary of the Party Committee Sheng Lianxi, the Vice President Xue Kang and the President's assistant attended the meeting, with 90 representatives from more than 20 universities and colleges and scientific researches institutes within the province.
The conference theme is "Establish Ecology as the Pillar Discipline for Sustainable Social Development". The participants discussed such issues as the relationship between the biodiversity and the multi-function of grassland, the recovering wetland ecology function and forest carbon fixation potential.
