In honor of Chen Yuanhui, a modern Chinese educator, psychologist, philosopher, and the pioneer of NENU's School of Education, the Department of Education has recently launched "Yuanhui Forum" at the 100th anniversary of his birth. The forum is to be held regularly with talks mostly given by doctoral supervisors in the Department, which will create more chances for the face-to-face communication between doctoral supervisors and more students.
In the first report entitled "The Journey of Mr. Chen Yuanhui to Become an Educator", Professor Yu Wei, President of Department of Education and doctoral supervisor, presented Mr. Chen's educational thoughts and his significant contribution to NENU's relevant discipline development, with the three subtitles of "Chen Yuanhui’s Biography", "Academic and Teaching Experiences" and "The Enlightenment Obtained From Mr. Chen Yuanhui". Professor Yu Wei highly recommended Mr. Chen's classic works The Posthumous Manuscript of Chinese Education History and On Wundt, etc. At the end of the report, Professor Yu Wei also showed the participants a video of Chen Yuanhui's lecture.
