On October 14th, the "China and Japan―the History and Reality of Mutual Understanding" international academic seminar, undertaken by School of Foreign Languages and Okayama University, was held in NENU. President Liu Yichun, President Assistant Han Dongyu and the representatives from Library, Division of International Cooperation and Communication, and School of Foreign Languages attended the opening ceremony of seminar. More than 50 scholars of both China and Japan participated in the seminar.
On the opening ceremony, Liu Yichun briefly introduced NENU's history and current situation, reviewed the cooperation between NENU and Okayama University and commended the achievements made by the two universities. He also expressed his gratitude to the support that Iwanami Shoten has been giving NENU in the past 60 years. Okayama University professor and Vice Director of Iwanami Shoten, each representing President and General Manager, announced the letter to President Liu Yichun, expressing the hope to deepen the communication and cooperation. In the following keynote speeches and discipline academic discussions, the participants interpreted the historic experience and contemporary enlightenment of Sino- Japan mutual understanding.
