The first report of "Erya NENU――Traditional Culture Forum" of this semester was held on Mar. 26th. The forum is one of the elective courses of general education "Series Lectures on Wenyun Dongshi" which is hosted by Publicity Department of Party Committee and organized by the School of History and Culture. Professor Luo Dongyang was invited to give an academic report entitled "the historical logic of selfless nation and administration of law", which was the first of the series of reports concerning "the Length and Breadth of History and Culture".
In the report, Professor Luo Dongyang starting from the opinion of "selfless nation" held by Huang Zongxi, a thinker of the period of Ming and Qing Dynasty, elaborated the thought of "selfless nation" and the concept of ruling by law in every dynasties. He held that ruling by law exited before ruling by the people, and the role of law was much bigger that that of the people, and that the enacting and implementing of law should be emphasized. After the report, Professor Luo Dongyang communicated with the students present on related questions.
