On May 7th the first “Ideological and Theoretical High-end Forum” and “judging the hour and thinking profoundly” seminar on the students’ education of situation and Policy of this semester were held. Professor Wang Yizhou, A famous expert of international political science and the vice-dean of the School of International Studies, Peking University gave a report titled “Survival, Development and Responsibility---the trend and challenges of Chinese diplomacy”. The leaders of NENU Yang Xiaohui, Zhang Zhiguo, Zhao Ying and Wang Ying, and the general accountant attended the report. The deputy Party secretary Wang Yan presided over the report. Before the report Yang Xiaohui issued the letter of appointment as adjunct professor to Wang Yizhou.
In the report Wang Yizhou first analyzed the themes in different development stages of the contemporary Chinese diplomacy, and then pointed out that as a newly-emerging great power, China was facing great challenges in diplomacy and finally he said that after going through the stages of survival, development and responsibility, Chinese diplomacy should manifest historical values to the whole world with the image of a powerful and friendly giant.
