On May 30th, held by the School of Literature, the “Lectures Week” activity lasting for one week came to a successful end. From May 26th on, Sun Dehong, the chief editor of Workers Daily and famous scholar, Sun Yu, dean of the School of Literature, Renmin University of China, Ji Hongzhen, a distinguished professor in Shenyang Normal University, and Yan Lianke, a famous writer, successively came to NENU and gave a series of academic lectures.
Teachers and students passionately confirmed the meaning of the activity in that it not only broadened their academic horizon and but also inspired their academic interest. Young teachers, in particular, benefited tremendously in aspects of scientific research ideas, academic planning and project topic selection. Yan Lianke, Sun YU and Ji Hongzhen were appointed as part-time professors of NENU. They spoke highly of the learning atmosphere and learning enthusiasm. In recent years, dedicated to the principle of “Walk Out and Invite In” in academic exchanges, the School of Literature has held a series of lectures given by famous scholars or celebrities with the support and cooperation of relevant departments. The “Lectures Week” is the first attempt to intensively invite famous scholars to give successive high-level lectures in one week.
