On May 13th,
Ross McElwee, professor of Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University,
the internationally renowned documentary filmmaker, visited NENU, and was
invited to give a report entitled "Education of Film and Visual Arts at
Harvard University" on the third session of NENU media “Global Vision
Lectures” hosted by School of Media Science, and co-hosted by Office of
International Cooperation and Exchange and the New Media Center of Central
People's Broadcasting Station.
On the report,
combined his thirty years’ experience as a teacher at Harvard University and
his experiences of documentary filmmaking, Ross McElwee introduced the history
of theoretical study on film and film-making at Harvard University to the teachers
and students of NENU and explained the film courses offered to the undergraduates
of Harvard University and the teaching methods, by playing the documentary,
animation and feature films and other works shot by teachers and students from
Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University. After the report, Ross
McElwee also communicated and interacted with the teachers and students of NENU.
