The School of Chemistry of NENU hosted the Summit Forum on First-Class Discipline Construction and the 2026 Annual Academic Meeting of the Key Laboratory of Polyoxometalate and Reticular Material Chemistry of the Ministry of Education on September 9. The meeting was attended by eleven academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—Zheng Lansun, Feng Shouhua, Zhang Xi, Chen Xiaoming, Jiang Lei, Li Yadong, Guo Zijian, Chen Xuesi, Li Jinghong, Bu Xianhe and Guo Lin—together with Liu Yichun, former President of NENU and CAS academician; Xu Haiyang, President of NENU; members of the Academic Committee of the key laboratory; and distinguished alumni of the School of Chemistry.
President Xu Haiyang extended a warm welcome and expressed gratitude to the guests on behalf of the University, noting that, through the dedication and unremitting efforts of generations of chemists, the School of Chemistry has developed an effective mechanism in which independent innovation in science and technology and independent cultivation of talent reinforce each other, driving the high-quality development of the discipline. At the meeting, Professor Zhu Guangshan, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Director of the key laboratory, reported on the progress and achievements of the first-class discipline construction and the annual work of the laboratory, noting that the discipline has grown into one of the world’s leading centers for polyoxometalate and reticular material chemistry. Eight established and young researchers of the discipline then presented their research progress in fields such as the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates and reticular materials.
More than 400 faculty and student representatives of the School of Chemistry attended the meeting.
