As an ancient nation in the northeast area of China, Manchu plays a special historical role and has its distinctive national characteristics. On the afternoon of November 25th, the President of Chinese Society of Manchuology Zhao Jie, a professor from Peking University gave a lecture to the teachers and students of NENU on the “Erya NENU-Traditional Culture Forum”, entitled “Outstanding Contributions Made by Manchu to the National Unity of China as a Multinational Country and to the Splendid Culture of Chinese Nation”.
In the report, Zhao Jie made illustrations around four aspects: “the position and historical development of Manchu”, “the main features of Manchu”, “the outstanding contributions made by Manchu to national unity” and “the outstanding contributions made by Manchu to the splendid culture of Chinese nation”. Zhao Jie hoped that the students of NENU could mke use of geological advantages, conduct research on Manchu language and Manchu culture, and make contributions to the development of national language and culture.
